Great school! Overall a young student population. Lots of running start students and foreign exchange students there. Campus is very pretty, most of the buildings are relatively new. Gym was recently remodeled and is very nice. Teachers are available to students. Tutors and learning resources readily available to students.
Wish I wouldn't have gone here.
It's a great stepping stone to getting a bachelor's at a four-year school. It's cheaper to go to a two-year school and complete the rest at a four-year school than it is to spend all four years at the one school. SFCC has really great mathematics professors, including Dr. Wildman and Dr. Cripe, who are willing to help you on your academic journey and point you in the right direction.
I absolutely adore SFCC! I have been a Running Start Student here for two years and I am sad that my time here has come to an end. This school is extremely diverse in every single way possible. There are people from all over the world, people of all ages and people who just wanted to stay close to home. SFCC is the place I feel the safest other than my own home. Campus security is extremely nice and the staff on campus are just amazing in every single way. Most of the instructors are there because they went to a community college and while they are so good that they should be instructing at bigger "better" institutions, they all wanted to give back to the community that raised them. If SFCC were a 4-year college, I would definitely have stayed here if given the choice. People say that community college isn't as good as a 4-year, but I can say wholeheartedly that no other school, 4-year or not, could ever compare to the experience and the education you gain at SFCC.
The fall 2020 acceptance rate for Spokane Falls Community College is 100%. That means, out of _____ applications received in 2020 , _____ students were offered admission. The number of males who applied was _____ vs the number of females which was _____.
Don't stress to much about attending college, it isnt as scary as some people say it is. You'll actually love it and do so much better than you have ever done in high school. Do to the fact you missed out on some important classes during your high school sophmore and jonior year becuase you were hospitalized from a car accident, you"ll have to get a transfer degree first before going to a four year college. It may seem unfair as a high school senior but you'll actually be happier about it. You'll have more time to officially decide on what creative career fits you best for the life you want. You'll start to love school for the first time in your life and find out which friends are true friends. The down side in your transition to college is you don't realize how much it actually costs till you have to pay for it . School is ridiculously expensive and you'll have to pay even more because you have to pay for your extra two years for your transfer degree. Just believe it will all workout in the end and dont stress.
Slackers.
The most frustrating thing about my school is the lack of effort to get a grade of a 4.0, and the biggest frustration is teachers that have been teaching at the college for over ten years seemed to not want to teach the students what needs to be taught, especially pre-calculus, I had to transfer out of pre-calculus 1 and 2 to find a good teacher to learn the information.
What I consider to be the worst thing about SFCC is that so many people smoke on campus. They can't smoke inside the buildings, but even when they smoke outside the smoke spreads!
Mostly we are known as a college for students to get their A.A. before transfering to a four year university. Most of the students are here to save money on tuition by getting their core requirements done at a community college.
The professors are great, classes are inexpensive, and the environment is great if you have the right perspective.
My classmates are eclectic and versatile.
I wish I would have known that the registration process can be very independent if the student does not ask for help outright. If you need assitance at this school, you definitely need to ask for it.
Any kind of person could attend Spokane Falls Community College, from the kind of person that just wants to take a couple of classes, to the kind of person (like me) who wants to pursue their AA degree.
I really like the type of atmostphere my school presented. The wide variety of courses they had in each building and it was easy to navagate from building to building based on the location. What really made the school outstanding from any other college was the big telescope on the far side of the observatory building.
The thing I brag about most when i tell them about my school is how convenient and fun it is. The school has a recreational room set up for students to enjoy, and that is exactly what i have been doing. It provides a great stress releiver and takes my mind off of the looming finals coming up, and allows me to take a break between classes to play ping pong, go bowling, or play pool.
