When I was first considering UCSB I was worried about the "every girl is blonde, thin, and mean" stereotype. Also, that UCSB is a party school.

I was talking to an old friend a few years ago, and when she found out I went to UCSB she was shocked. Her exact words were "but you used to be such a good kid." Our party reputation is so extreme that when the cycling team traveled to other colleges our hosts felt obligated to throw us an impressive party.

The most prominent stereotype that exists is that UCSB is a HUGE party school with students who do nothing but get wasted on the weekends and have massive amounts of sex (University of Casual Sex and Beer), and as a result, apparently most of the people here are STD infected alcoholics.

The biggest stereoype about UCSB is that all anyone does here is party. It's so widespread that even the students themselves assume it of each other.
