University of Maryland has a very diverse and multicultural student body. There are plenty of different types of peoples, group, and organization where everyone can find their niche and meet close friends who they get along very well with. Also, there is virtually no sense of economic disparity among students on campus--no one feels isolated by the rich, poor, and everything in between because people aren't snobby, everyone is friends with people of diverse backgrounds.

It's not very unique, in fact it's stereotypical.

There is so much diversity and is so welcoming. I love meeting all different people each person different from the next.

The diversity of the University in student population as well as athletics. Instead of excelling in just one sport, Maryland is known to excel in many. So far just this year our Women's Field Hockey won the NCAA championship for their 3rd time in 4 years, our football team is playing in the Bowl game, and our Men's Soccer Team is playing in the semifinals this Friday. As well as athletics its strengths are excelling in various majors such as a strong Business school, as well as Journalism and more.

University of Maryland has a great friendly atmosphere and lots of school spirit. The studetns here are passionate about the school and their academics as well as career aspirations.

They are always building something new or improving something that already exists here on campus, and every year the campus becomes more and more beautiful.

This school is the most diverse place I have ever been to in my life. I grew up in a rural area with 0 diversity. There is an intense focus on sports, engineering and sciences. There are also a ton of social outlets for students. Even though this campus is not as haughty as the other schools I considered it has an incredible amount of benefits. Maryland sports enthusiasts are unbeatable.

I transferred to Harvard after freshman year, though I was also considering Wesleyan and Grinnell.

Maryland is a wonderful place if you're willing to take the initiative to take advantage of what it has to offer.

UMD is unique in that it is so diverse. There is a niche for just about everyone, so it is really hard to generalize this campus. I wish there was more unity in our diversity, but I think it will come with time and effort. Class difficulty greatly depends on the TA, which is annoying because the same class can be significantly harder, leading to a lower grade, when someone else has an easier TA and gets an A in the same course.

Classes are usually difficult and time consuming. Most of my time is spent doing homework or studying!

IT's a good school, really. Sporting events are big and fun too.

Don't come here and cheer for another team. People with point, yell and throw things at you, even if you're six years old.
