University of Maryland-College Park Top Questions

University of Maryland is a great university that honors the individual and encourages diversity among its students. UMD does a great job to cater to different students no matter race, sex, religion, beliefs, etc. It is a large school so just keep that in mind but I strongly recommend it. I loved it and wouldn't change a thing! If I had to do everything all over again, I would make the same choice, University of Maryland ranks among the best in the country. Once a Terp, always a Terp!

Anyone is outgoing, focused and self assured. There is a lot to do which can be good and bad. If plan to succeed academically you should be disciplined because there are a lot of distractions. As long as your confident and have an idea of where you're going in life you should be fine.

This school is quite large so if your looking for an intimate college this is not the one for you. The college has a huge social network and students who are outgoing, self challenging, and have a lot to say are perfect for this university. The school has great dorms, teachers and the business school is one of the best in the country. School spirit, thrives at Maryland, so much so that you can't help being a part of it all.

A person that is not serious about their degree should not attend.An extremely conservative and closed minded individual should also not attend.

Someone who is very into the liberal arts or doesn't want to attend a very large school

A person who needs individual attention (1 on 1 time with an instructor) in order to do well should not attend this school. Also, if a person needs a lot of motivation to complete school work/do well from outside sources they should not attend this school.

Anyone can attend. We don't discriminate. There's something for everyone.

A person should not attend this school only because their parents did or because they think they will have it somewhat easier if they are alumni kids. If a person is not hard working, motivated, or ready to experience new things, then the university is not for them either.

Someone who can't handle very large campuses.

Smart and driven students

Someone who does not like to be in classes over 30 students. Someone who works better in small surroundings in order to easily open up.

It might be hard to attend this school if you come from a small town or a small high school. The campus is huge, the dorms are over crowded, and the surrounding area is very urban. So it can be a bit scary for someone unfamiliar with such an environment. I went to a very small high school, where I knew every student by name. It was hard to transition to such a big school in such a big city (DC).

A person who wants to be in a more intimate setting. There are a large number of students here and one can get lost , if they are not prepared for that.

a very shy, reserved person who likes to keep to themselves should not attend this school. it is possible to have alone time on this campus but the culture here is one of inclusiveness, relationships and friendliness.

An introverted person would have a great deal of difficulty adjusting to this environment. Transfer students ought to be very extroverted.

Closed minded people who are introvertted or like to start trouble. Those that can not handle the workload of college along with the social life needed to maintain friendships. Those that can not handle diversity. Those that a re not good at conflict resolution. Those who do not have common sense
