We know that you’re busy with school, activities, and life in general; so that’s why we’ve created this short list of scholarships with upcoming deadlines to help keep you on track when it comes to finding free money for college. And, who doesn’t like free money for college!? You can find quite a few BIG MONEY scholarships in February, including a full-tuition award and several above $10,000 each. So, put the the flowers and candles on hold for a few hours, and get to work on these February scholarships before it’s too late. Playing With Purpose Scholarship High school sophomores, juniors, and seniors: don’t miss out on this $2,000 award. To apply, you must be involved in high school sports and be a committed Christian. Applications must be received by February 1. Truman Scholarship This $30,000 renewable scholarship is open to full-time junior and senior undergraduate students. Applicants must be nominated by a faculty member and plan to pursue a graduate degree. If interested, be sure to get your application in by February 3. BMI Student Composer Awards Program To the future Beethovens and Tchaikovskys, listen up! Students 27 years and younger, who have an interest in musical composition, may be eligible for up to $5,000 through this scholarship competition. Deadline to apply is February 6. Proton Energy Scholarship This renewable, full-tuition scholarship is open to current high school seniors who plan to major in a science or technology-related field. Want to have college paid for? For the chance to win, be sure to apply for this scholarship by February 13. Create-A-Greeting-Card Scholarship Contest One creative student (14 years or older) will win a $10,000 scholarship through this contest. Applicants must design a greeting card to be eligible for the prize. Designs must be received by February 18. The Point Foundation Scholarship Lesbian, gay, bisexual, or transgendered (LGBT) students, or those who have a history of leadership and dedication in the LGBT community, may be eligible for this $10,000 scholarship. Approximately 28 awards are offered annually. Applications must be received by February 20. Sweet & Simple Scholarship U.S. legal residents 13 years and older may apply for this $1,500 scholarship. Students must submit a short essay (250 words or less) describing a gift that meant the most to them. Apply online by February 28. Looking for more scholarships?
