Easy Scholarships

Are your parents on your case about finding free money for college? Do you dread the thought of spending hours filling out applications and writing essays? If you are like many students who have put off applying for scholarships until the last minute, fear not:  there’s hope for you yet. The good news is that not every scholarship program requires you to submit a 1,000-word essay to win an award. In fact, there are several fun and easy programs that are perfect for even the most reluctant scholarship hunters. The catch is that there may be several thousands of other procrastinators applying with you, but if you have the luck of the Irish on your side, you may still cash in on some free college money! Check out these quick and easy scholarships…

1. $1,000 Chegg Monthly Scholarship

Every month, Chegg offers students the opportunity to win $1,000 for just submitting a short response (approximately 3 sentences or less) to the current scholarship prompt. The questions are typically light and humorous, such as: “Which superhero would you pick to be your lab partner?” Just have fun and come back every month for another chance to win!

2. ScholarshipPoints

For those of you who really hate writing, this one’s for you. Simply register for a free account and start earning points doing what you are already doing – playing and/or shopping online. You can use the points you earn to enter various drawings each month for scholarships worth up to $10,000 each.

3. Easy College Money Scholarship

Cappex is awarding one student with a $1,000 scholarship for college. Just register for a free account and complete the information section about your extracurricular, leadership, and volunteer activities to be entered to win. That’s it! .

4. CampusDiscovery Scholarship

If you’re a current college student or a recent graduate, just take a short survey about your college experience and you’ll be entered to win $5,000. There are four chances to win each year.

5. Niche ‘No Essay’ Scholarship

If you are a high school or college student, or someone planning to enroll in college within the next 12 months, be sure to apply for this $2,000 scholarship! Winners are selected at random, but you can’t win if you don’t apply.

6. CareerFitter.com Scholarship

Current undergraduate and graduate students are eligible to apply for this $500 award. Simply submit an online application and a short response (150 words or less) to the following question: ‘What is the perfect career for you, and why?’

7. Flavor of the Month Scholarship

Who doesn’t love ice cream? If you are 13 years or older, simply submit a short response (250 words or less) to the following question: ‘If you were an ice cream flavor, which would you be and why?’ One winner will receive $1,000 for college.

These seven (a lucky number!) scholarships are just a sampling of the many programs available to those students who may find it a bit taxing to write elaborate essays or complete multiple application pages for a chance to win free money for college. But remember, you usually get out what you put in. While it may seem like a lot of work searching and applying for scholarships, if you commit to just 20 hours and win only one $1,000 award, you still earned $50 an hour. I’ll take that paycheck any day!
