Application requirements for the Hackard Law Academic Scholarship are:

  • Video submission
Additional Information: The Hackard Law Scholarship Program is provided annually in recognition of the importance of education, as well as the role of those elder members of society who can provide the most context and experience. Each year, one student will be selected to receive a scholarship based on the quality of their video submissions and how well the video succeeds at emphasizing the lessons we can learn from the older members of our community. By applying for this award, students must agree to grant all copyright ownership of the video to Hackard Law, as well as permission to post your video (or excerpts thereof) on Hackard Law's website and/or elsewhere on the internet (such as through social media). Winners will be selected, announced, and all scholarship payments will be made by September 21, 2018.

Award Amount: $2,500 annually, non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $2,500.

Detailed instructions and application guidelines are available online at the website of Hackard Law.To be considered for a scholarship, students must create an original video in response to the following prompt: "How I Will Improve the Lives of the Elderly." Videos may be up to three minutes in length and must be published publicly, online, at either YouTube or Vimeo. Students must then send an email to the provided address that contains the following: a link to the video; the applicant's full name and contact information; proof of age and citizenship (such as a copy of the applicant's passport or driver's license); and proof of enrollment in an accredited college or university.
