Application requirements for the KHEAA Teacher Scholarship are:
Award Amount: Awards are for a forgivable loan. Juniors, seniors, post-baccalaureate, or graduate students may receive up to $2,500 for each semester and $1,250 for each summer session. If funds remain, freshmen and sophomores may receive $625 each semester and $325 for each summer session. Students may reapply for this award each year. Recipients must sign a promissory note for each term a loan was disbursed and promise to teach one semester in Kentucky for each semester or summer session per a promissory note. Recipients who teaches in a critical shortage area will have promissory notes for two semesters or summer terms cancelled for each semester he/she teaches. If a recipient does not complete the program or does not render qualified teaching service, the scholarship becomes a loan and the recipient is required to repay the amount disbursed with six percent interest that accrues from the date of disbursement. The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $5,000.
