Description: The National Aviation Exploring Committee supports projects designed to help young people pursue careers in aviation. Scholarships between $5,000 and $10,000 are awarded annually. These awards recognize excellence in Aviation Explorers studying the skills and technology needed in the field of aviation.

Application requirements for the National Aviation Explorer Scholarships are:

  • Essay
  • Recommendation letter
  • Application form
  • Official Transcript.
Additional Information: Applicants must be currently registered and active in an Aviation Explorer post. Applicants will receive notice of award via email by August 1st.

Award Amount: The grant value is up to $10,000.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $10,000.

Applicants complete an online form on the provider website. They must describe their personal record and show they can successfully complete the aviation career educational activity or which they are requesting the scholarship. This entails showing their involvement in life skills, citizenship, leadership and character education experiences. If under the age of 18, they must obtain a parent or guardian signature on the application form. Included in the application, a candidate must submit at least 3 recommendation letters from an aviation post advisor, aviation professional, teachers, employer or community leader. Other documents include a high -resolution self-portrait, copy of FAA written exam results FAA medical if applicable and any FAA certificates if any. If applicable, candidate also submits college transcript. Applicants must also write an essay stating their educational plan for a career in aviation.
