Number of Awards & Eligibility: One award offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Preference is given to students who are self-identified lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgender (LGBT), members of LGBT families, or straight-allies who have been strongly supportive of the LGBT community.
  3. Must be a currently enrolled undergraduate or graduate student at the time of application.
  4. Must be a U.S. citizen.
  5. Must be a resident of Alaska.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: This award is available for students in Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Oregon, or Washington who are self-identified lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgender (LGBT), members of LGBT families, or straight-allies who have been strongly supportive of the LGBT community. Applicants are considered a resident of one of these states if they currently live within that state and have done so for at least three months prior to the application deadline.

Application requirements for the Pride Foundation Alaska Scholarship are:

  • Essay
  • Interview
  • Recommendation letter
  • Application form
  • Artwork samples (opt.)
Additional Information: Pride Foundation is able to offer a diversity of scholarships, which encourage students of different backgrounds and educational interests to apply. Most scholarships are available for straight ally or questioning students as well as student of LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender) parents. All promote leadership and diversity in the LGBT community.

Award Amount: The monetary award amount varies and is determined by the Pride Foundation. Generally, scholarships offered through the foundation are a minimum of $500 to a maximum of $12,000. The award is offered annually and is non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $12,000.
