Number of Awards & Eligibility: One award offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.
  3. Must be a college sophomore or junior who is currently enrolled in an accredited degree-granting institution.
  4. Must enroll full time.
  5. Must have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher.
  6. Must demonstrate community service and involvement.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Additional Information: Awards will be announced in August.

Award Amount: $1,000 annually, non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $1,000.

Applications are available online from the Alpha Kappa Alpha Educational Advancement Foundation, Inc. website. In addition to the completed application, the student must submit three letters of recommendation; official transcripts from all colleges attended, scanned and added as an attachment; and a personal goal statement (to be completed within the application). Applications and supporting materials must be submitted by the deadline.
