This scholarship fund was established in December 2002 with gifts from Mr. Shoma Hotta and family and the friends of Elsie S. Yoshizawa Hotta. The purpose of the scholarship is to honor the life of Elsie S. Yoshizawa Hotta, beloved wife, mother and grandmother and outstanding and devoted teacher, through scholarship awards for graduates of Baldwin High School interested in teaching. All applicants for this award must demonstrate financial need and good moral character. Recipients will be notified after the scholarship selection committees meet, which could be any time between May and August.
