  2. Must have a minimum GPA of at least 2.0

Description: The EmPOWERED Scholars program awards scholarships to enrolled undergraduate students who volunteer in their communities to use toward their education expenses. Scholars give their time to community-based organizations, student-led organizations and other groups that address food insecurity, safe housing, job opportunities, access to health care and other conditions that can result in health disparities.

Application requirements for the EmPOWERED To Serve Scholars Program are:

Additional Information: In addition to receiving a $5,000 college scholarship, scholars become part of the EmPOWERED to Serve network of ambassadors and alumni. Scholars also have the opportunity to formally represent their regional American Heart Association office, and they receive invitations to special events such as the EmPOWERED to Serve Business Accelerator finale.

Award Amount: $5,000 will be awarded to chosen individual   The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $25,000.
