The Krishnan-Shah Family Scholarship is provided annually to graduating high school seniors in the Silicon Valley Region (defined for these purposes as Santa Clara County, San Mateo County, San Francisco County, Alameda County, and Santa Cruz County in California). Current community college students who graduated from a high school in one of those five listed counties are also eligible to apply. Applicants must be the first in their generation to be pursuing higher education, and they must have a record of community participation, involvement, and leadership. Ideal applicants should have a grade point average of between 3.0 and 3.75, although higher and lower grades are not automatically disqualifying in the context of other achievements and activities presented on the application.
