Number of Awards & Eligibility: One award offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be a legal U.S. resident.
  3. Must reside in one of the 50 United States or the District of Columbia.
  4. Must be a graduating high school senior or a current college freshman, sophomore, or junior.
  5. Must have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: This scholarship is open to U.S. high school seniors and college freshmen, sophomores, and juniors. Students must submit an essay on the current year's topic.

Additional Information: Contestants will be judged by an independent panel consisting of three professionals in the sharing economy space, with parameters based on the following criteria: thoughtfulness of response, 50 percent; relevance to prompt, 30 percent; quality of composition, 15 percent; grammatical accuracy, 5 percent. The winner will be notified by May 31. Applicants cannot be related to anyone on the Rover staff.

Award Amount: $2,500 annually, non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $2,500.

Application information is available online on the Rover website. To apply, the student must write an essay of 400 to 500 words answering the question listed on the Rover website. The essay must be submitted in a Google Doc, with the student's name and year in school (high school senior, college freshman, etc.) at the top. The Google Doc must be shared with [email protected]. The student must also submit the online Google Form linked on the Rover website. All application materials must be submitted by 11:59 p.m. PST on the deadline date.
