The best thing about Florida State University is that there is something for everyone. There is a lot of school spirit with all of the athletic teams, there are many clubs and if there is not one you like you can make it, and the classes are focused and engaging.

Richard

The school spirit. Everyone at my school, (Florida State University) bleeds garnett and gold, our school colors. They LOVE the school. There are school events going on every night, with free food and t-shirts, and community events. It's just absolutely incredible to see so many passionate students all in one place, rooting for the same cause.

Ashley

The is a strong school spirit and very friendly atmosphere.

Brian

The location, the teachers, the students, and the alumni.

Alexzandria

Despite the university being large, the academic officials and advisors are very supportive and encouraging to all of their students. I have never once felt like a number or unimportant. If you show genuine interest and concern for your education, then the officials you come into contact with will as well. It is definitely an amazing experience, and I am so proud to be a Florida State Seminole.

Laura

The numerous groups and organizations available on the campus. This allows individuals to identify with at least one group. It's a great way to meet people, and gain experience. That's absolutely why I love my school; its a friendly, interactive environment that encourages every member to be involved.

Kelly

It would definitely have to be the classes themselves and the amazing faculty that helps us everyday. Every class you learn something new so I get excited every morning to get up and get my day started. I don't see anything better than living around a place where every corner has a new area of study to explore. You can never get bored!

Tori

I love to compare the things I am learning in my classes. Every class that I have is somehow interchangable with the information provided. I learn something new every day and am provided with new opportunities for success.

Kristina

The school spirit. Everyone is a die-hard Florida State Seminole Fan no matter where they come from. It does not stay with them just in school but well after graduation. This school spirit helps with networking to find jobs in the future.

Kristy

The best thing about FSU is not only the people you meet, but the comradery that is experienced at any sprting event. Also, even when not in Tallahassee, when you see a fellow nole you can always expect a friendly smile and a seminole chop!

Paige

The best thing is all the opportunity present for each student. There is an organization or society for nearly everything a student could possibly want to do. If a student enjoys art, there is a place for that. It allows for students to express themselves and be able to really become involved in their university. There is a large group of students who are interested in the same things which allows for close groups to develop as well as people to feel as though they belong and make a difference in their university.

Paige

After studying at FSU for my first academic year and being involved with almost every aspect of the campus, I can passionately tell you that my school is all centered around one word: community. We all work to create an environment where every student is not only accepted, but welcomed, every interest and passion is appreciated, and all individuals work together to pay it forward to one another and to the larger community. The resources my new academic home provides, including knowledge, organizations, and values, all unite to create the passionate, future leaders of our world.

Sara

It provided a lot of opportunities to explore your interests.

Seth

The best thing about Florida State is the high quality professors I interact with every day and the opportunities for involvement in which I have engaged. All the professors have seemed to care so much about me, and I am even going to do research with a few next year. The most important thing I have been involved in here, outside of academics, is the crew team. I have quickly learned that rowing is one of the most enjoyable (but difficult) extracurricular activity I could have ever imagined.

Amanda

Simple. The Strozier Library! It is known as "Club Stroz" among students! It is a friendly, comfortable work environment with a double sided Starbucks inside! I spend most of my test nights there! Finals and midterms week is packed and Strozier offers a lot of free stuff! Simply Unique!

Myles

The school spirit. There is also so many opportunities to get involved either in the business world for experience or even for international experience. The Faculty here are really helpful and they seem to have the best intrests of the students in mind.

Derek

The best thing about FSU are the many opportunities to connect with professionals, researchers and experts within a student's field of study, and receive valuable advice that will assist us as we apply to grad schools or start careers.

Allyson

There are so many things about FSU that you could consider unique, but I think that it's pretty cool that our campus is in the heart of Tallahassee, just a few steps away from the capitol. Also, our campus buildings are all red brick, so our campus is a rare beauty in the South.

Tanya

The best thing about my school is the superb amount of school spirit that each student possesses.

Nadia

The number of resources available when you want them.

Dayana

The best thing about my school is the how helpful every employee here is. Every member of the FSU team is interested in bettering the student's college experience in every way possible. It is impossible to be be havng a bad time at Florida state. There are so many individuals and resources here dedicated to your well being, academically, emotionally, and personally.

Carolina

The professors at the Florida State University are outstanding. Never have I been taught with such enthusiasm and passion. They are truly dedicated to each and every student's success. This Spring semester I continued my development of the German language with my Professor Andrew Cole. Professor Cole goes out and beyond to help his students grasp the linguistics of German. He offers flexible office hours, tutoring at the library, and will always be there to lend a helping hand. My favorite thing is that he screens German movies every Friday at his own leisure.

Alexandra

The best thing about Florida State University is the willingness of the professors and teacher assistants to dedicate their time outside of class to offer additional help. Not only do they all have specific office hours, they always offer to meet at times that work best around the students' schedules. I have never once not been able to go to any of my professors or teaching assistance outside of class. They make you feel as if they are always there, and that's what I like and appreciate the most.

Amanda

Florida State's campus is so unique from any other Florida college because it has a northern feel to it and is in the capital of Florida. With its brick buildings and tall oak trees, it feels like you aren't even in Florida. At first, I didn't know how I felt about it because I am a huge beach bum and love the tropical look. However, after some time I realized it made me feel like I was really on my own and in a different area that I can make a place for myself in. The brick buildings, beautiful fountains and statues have so much tradition behind them, that I really believe that our campus is the most unique in Florida after visiting the other schools.

Benjamin

Florida State University has many options. One can major in practically anything and get a worthwhile education. If one wanted to pursue a double major in an art and a science, they could easily do it, given that the finances permit.

Ryan

I think the best thing about our school were the high degree of educators and the ability to network

At first glance, FSU is just like any other college. But, when you take one step onto Legacy walk you know that there is much more to this campus than in any other school. The night life, the people and the campus are all unique to FSU. There is always something to do here in Tallahassee, whether it be a club or just going out on the town there is always something to do and very safe. The people are also unique to this campus. Everyone has their own sense of school spirit and everyone is always very excited for every event, basketball, soccer and football. Florida State's campus is all brick. Our stadium is the largest brick building as well as the most used space within a stadium in the United States.

Allison

My school has a beautiful campus.

Janna

In my opinion, the best thing about Florida State University are the professors. I have only attended FSU for one semester but I have already had some of the best teachers I have ever had. I feel confident that the education I am getting is worth the money.

Stephanie

It's history and tradition. Seminole pride is something that is taken very seriously at FSU and it's truly beautiful to be surrounded by that all the time. You can see it in the architecture, in our spirit gear, and even in the statues around campus. Honestly, it's hard to even describe. It's something that's best experienced first hand. But if you could only have 2 images of the school to show how unique it really is, there are two that I would suggest. The first is seeing Osceola and Renegade ride onto the field before a home football game. Both are dressed in full Seminole Tribe regalia, with Osceloa holding the flaming spear high above his head. Renegade is absolutely magnificent, and the whole spectacle is one of our most cherished traditions. Seeing that in person is what made me fall in love with everything that FSU is. I would also suggest that you go to the Westscott fountain at sunset. The history that you can see so plainly in the beautiful architecture there is breathtaking. From there you can walk down to Dodd Hall, and down to Suwannee dining hall. This section of campus is historic and gorgeous, and makes the past of Florida State Tangible.

Elizabeth

I do love Seminole Sensation Week, because FSU can usually get some decent celebrities for the first week of classes, like Craig Ferguson. There's so many activities and opportunities for free or super cheap food (Breakfast for a Buck), oxygen bars, chalking contests, movies on Landis Green, that unless you just hate living, you'll find something to enjoy. My favorite spot to kind of relax and sit around is definitely either the Union Green or the courtyard behind the Student Life Cinema (free movies). It's quiet, no one's ever there, and there's a big tree or benches to sit on. I think my school stands out because it's not all clinical concrete: the atmosphere is very organic, and there's a lot of nature that the school tries to put in every little space. You never feel like you're walking around this huge, ancient school, but somewhere warm where you actually WANT to be. Basically it's all very pretty.

Alan

Florida State University is located in a very diverse area. Financial status varies, there are many of campus activities to take advantage of and school spirit is very high. Students are very accepting and easy to get along with. Professors are great and treat their students like young professionals preparing for the workforce, rather than kids fresh out of high school.

Jena

The way everyone from different stereo groups get along and our desire to be successful. Everyone comes together for the Seminoles and has great things to say about their time spent at this school. Not just on campus but around town people always run into someone they know.

Layni

FSU is one of the two Universities in the nation to have its own particle accelerator, so all of you physics buffs, get excited!

Chelsea

Besides having the oldest brick structure in the U.S, FSU's uniqueness is how it's the center of the city, how the parking can't contain the growing population of the school, and how it has extra requirements that no one really tells you about in the beginning. I couldn't really find a place for it anywhere else, so I'll just put it here. If your major is through the college of arts and science, you will have take up a 3rd level of a language, which is 1 more than the normal requirement for languages of other colleges, departments and universities. Additionally, these language classes have strict attendance policies and occur 3 times a week most of the time. This can be difficult for scheduling, trying to get into the class you need since they are mostly full. Take this into consideration when choosing this school, a major in arts and sciences, and which language.

Emily

The best thing about Florida State University is the resources available to students to help them succeed. Staff is friendly and professors are helpful. Tutoring is available in every subject at every hour of the day. When I needed my counselor, she was available and well-equipped to help me explore all possibilities to help me choose a major that fits.

Jocelyn

It's close to home for me. So I'm able to get my school work done and make sure that my parents have what they need.

Megan

I love how Florida State has a lot of people and so many different clubs, activities, things to do. But on the other hand, it is also a relatively small, very managable campus. One is able to get the full "state college" experience without being overwhelmed or out of place.

Kendra

The quality of the professor's and our research progress.

Brittany

Florida State is a beautiful university located very close to the Capitol. Although right around the corner from all the political action, Florida State University is the school to attend if you want a true college experience. Aside from it's rigorous academics, there are so many opportunities to become involved on campus, whether it be greek life or one of the many organizations Florida State has to offer. There is also a surplus of things to do outside of school as well. I wanted an amazing college experience, and there is no better place for that than Florida State!

Sarah

Florida State has amazing school spirit and it feels like a real college with its research alongside its sports program. Everyone is involved in their classes, reasearch, and still makes time for hanging out with their friends and attending school sponsored events. FSU is all inclusive and inspires the school spirit its students have.

Zachary

The accessability of the classes you need to for every persons specific major.

Brittany

A lot of diversity.

Shelby

The best thing about FSU is the school spirit and tradition of our school. Florida State is a proud university that strives to shine in all areas, from landscaping to International Abroad programs.

Steven

I really like how professors engage the students and get to know them when they demonstrate the urge to learn and engage in academics. This is especially true further on, when classes become smaller and you're focus is narrower. I couldn't really chose anything specific as I believe that at such a large shcool everyone has magrinally different experiences; Personally, I would say the College of Information Studies has ben the best. In general, this is a school with a vast array of culture and opportunites in regards to students finding their 'place' so to speak.

Savannah

The access of everything.

Jordan

The Florida State University has a long history and has accumulated many extra-curricular programs over those years. I happen to be part of the FSU Jiu-Jitsu club.

Alexander

The pride of it's students. Although I'm 500 miles away from my family, being a part of the Seminole community makes me feel at home and accepted.

Hannah

School spirit. Going to a big college is definitely the way to go. I went to a small school for a year and absolutely hated it, I missed the football games and social events and being challenged academically.
