Any student who would like a lot of diversity in their class should not attend ISU.

If you like big cities, you will not like Iowa State. Ames is a great place, but it definitely has a small, college-town feel.

Iowa State is mainly students from Iowa or states bordering Iowa. It is huge in farming, engineering, and design, and attracts students that are in these fields. Someone who isn't comfortable with a big school or meeting new people every week would feel uncomfortable. The campus is beautiful and welcomes those who want a real college experience.

People that do not have the desire to work should not attend my school. I have seen many bright individuals fail their classes out of laziness, as in not going to class or doing the work required of them. Of course there are people that do not try because the material is too hard to learn; however, my campus provides countless resources for those that are struggling.

The person that shouldn't attend this school is someone who is lazy, doesn't want to work hard, parties all the time, or hates nature. Iowa State is surrounded by nature and if you don't want to work hard then you're going to be kicked out.

Someone uncomfortable in large classes

Someone who doesn't like windy days, and someone who doesn't like the cold. It does get cold during the winter, but it could be a lot colder. People who like warm, sunny and balmy should go farther south.

A quiet, not very outgoing person. This school is very outgoing and a very fun campus to be on. A quiet person would not fit in too well.

The kind of person who shouldn't attend this school is someone who is afraid to have fun. At ISU it is important to get involved and branch out of your comfort zone. Someone who is not open to new experience and an adventurous time would not have a very good experience at this University.

A shy or rude person everyone is friendly and welcoming

Someone serious about getting an education and that is willing to put in a lot of hours and hard work to earn their degree

I don't think there is anyone who shouldn't attend Iowa State. There is a place where every type of personality, gender, race, sexuality, etc. can fit in. It is a very diverse campus and it accomodates everyone.

I think the kind of student that shouldn't attend this school is someone who is going to slack off and not remain focused on school. Or people who are not open to new ideas and cultures, especially with the diversity on campus.

A person that does not like lecture courses, has a hard time interacting with all types of people, or does not enjoy a challenge should not go to this school.

The type of person who does not enjoy campus based activities which involves a lot of communication, projects, and quality time between students they may or may not know. A person who is not motivated would not be a good candidate and could suffer academically from the class cirriculum's and group projects. A person who is anti-social might find it as an overwhelming campus.

People who aren't serious about their school work or futures since it would be extremely difficult to do well or survive in school here.

The type of person who is not serious about receiving an excellent education. Someone who wants to just go through the motions and not fully commit to putting themselves into their education. If you are looking for a college that professors let you fall in the cracks, your not in the right place.

Some one that does not like large campuses and classroom sizes, someone that doesn't like to go out on the weekends, someone that is intimidated by diversity, someone that is not going to take school seriously

Iowa State is perfect for any type of student as long as your willing to learn.

Some one that does not like to be very involved on campus. People are very friendly, and really care about the groups they are in.

I don't think you should attend Iowa State University if you are strictly here to learn. I know learning is the whole reason why we are here, but if you don't open yourself up to having a good time, too, you'll regret it in the end. Most all of us want that "college experience" of going out with friends and having fun and making great memories, so if you won't want that, don't come to a place where fun is so inevitable. ISU was my school of choice and I am glad I came here.

If you have any sense of community and a family atmosphere do not attend Iowa State University. This school is all about being involved and belonging. If you can't be a friendly person and don't want to be involved then don't come.

One who is not looking to take college seriously. One who is not wanted to become something more in life.

People who hate agriculture. There is a heavy presence of agriculture majors on campus. Also, people who can't stand hearing opinions from people who don't know the facts. If you can tolerate it, fine, but if not, don't come. The college paper is full of it.

Iowa State University is great for anyone who wants to work hard and earn a reputable degree.

Anyone can attend this school. It is geared for the masses and welcomes all.

I don't think our school has a stereotype, so I believe that there isn't a person that shouldn't attend Iowa State University.

There are no persons that I can think of that wouldn't fit in at Iowa State University. ISU offers something for students of all variety. If a person has a bad attitude and a negative personality, then that is the only way I believe someone could not enjoy thier time here.

There are many diverse students at Iowa State, so it is difficult to say that anyone shouldn't enroll. However, those who aren't interested in actively participating in the classroom and keeping up with their studies should consider going elsewhere. Many students who have come from larger cities also may have a hard time adjusting to the small-town Iowan lifestyle. Lastly, those who do not enjoy cold weather and plenty of snow might not enjoy the winter they would experience at Iowa State University.

A person who needs the city life should not attend this school.

Anyone who is looking for a party school. We have fun, but we are a lot more focused.

People who don't like bigger campuses or colleges with lots of people shouldn't attend this schoool. Otherwise it is great!

If you aren't ready to accept rapid weather changes, you should not attend Iowa State University. ISU is located in an area with hot summers, muddy springs, chilly falls, and brutal winters.

The kind of people that shouldn't attend this University are those whom show no motivation or signs of responsability. Being responsible in college is a must. Students must meet deadlines and the criteria of the work. Work ethics are important , plagiarism is unecceptable, as well as cheating on exams and assignments. Skipping class hurts students grades, many times I have seen students getting punished for skipping lectures and disturbing class. College is a lot different than High School. We're here to build responsability, learn, participate, and create a better future. Not slack off, miss class, and disturb classmates.

A person that is lazy, not motivated, and not studious, will not make the cut at Iowa State University.

I believe that the only persons that shouldn't attend this school are the persons that lack the will succeed in life. All the people that I have met here at Iowa State University have this will to accomplish all their goals, that they themselves have chosen. The kind of person who does not see themselves as something more than what they are right now is the kind of person that should stay away from Iowa State University. The reason for this is that Iowa State University has a way of changing peoples lives for the better.

Anyone who is dedicated to doing and learning something they love.

Someone who is afraid of meeting new people, or needs to be coddled. This is a big university, and there will always be new people to meet. Similarly, you will usually have new professors each semester, and they can't be expected to hold your hand the entire time. You need to be able to get work done on your own initiative.

Students that will not enjoy this school are people that like the busy, crowded city life. Iowa State is more for students that are involved with agriculture and nature. Students that are not limited on money supply could afford a private and Ivy League schools, Iowa State is more for the average student.

If a person is not willing to do the best they can to improve themselves then how can anyone expect them to do well in life? If a person is not dedicated to their own education how can anyone trust that they will do well in their chosen field? A person like this should not attend Iowa State University.

The kind of person that shouldn't attend Iowa State is a person who isn't ready to be a fully commited student, and also ready to have many new interesting experiences. When you come to Iowa State there are so many opportunities for students to try new things that will help you grow as a student and as a person. Academics are also very important here, so if you are not fully commited to your school work you will not last.

The kind of person who shouldn't attend my school is the type of person who isn't willing to work hard and who gives up easily. This school is about hard work, dedication, and learning about subjects an individual could only dream of. Students that aren't willing to work hard for their grade, or slack off during class shouldn't attend this school because they will find themselves to be an outcast with the rest of the students on campus.

People who don't like doing work and are easy distracted. Also people who like to party a lot because if done too often, a person focus will be off school and they don't study as much because trying to recover from a long night of partying.

People who enjoy small campuses where they recognize people as they walk to class should not attend Iowa State.

People who should not attend Iowa State University are those who do not wish to study hard or apply themselves; it is a school of rigorous study and those who will succeed must give study top priority. As most universities, there is opportunity to goof off but that will hinder one's progress to success in life. There are many good, healthy extra-curricular activities in which to spend one's free time.

The only people I would recommend not go to Iowa State University would be the people that are interested in a major that is not offered at Iowa State. Iowa State has many majors, some of which are stronger than others. I believe anyone can come to Iowa State and fit in and find friends.

Iowa State is a great school, and everyone should consider it.
