What's the one thing you wish someone had told you about freshman year?

I wish I had gone to college after high school or at least sooner than being 41 years old. I didn't have the faith I could do it, that I could succeed. I am can and I am!

I wish that I would have known that I could do as well as I have. If I would have realized how well I would have adjusted to working and completing online coursework, I would have done it many years ago. Although the coursework can be demanding, I have been able to maintain a great grade point average. It all comes down to self-discipline.

I think having a little better understanding of how the online classroom worked would have been helpful. I also think knowing a little more about APA formatting for papers would have been helpful as I had never used this in my past college experiences and all papers are written in this format. I think I might have taken a class on powerpoint as it is used often for group and individual presentations and I had never used this in the past.

University of Phoenix-online is a great college. It is a fantastic way to be able to work and achieve your degree. You do have to be disciplined and work hard to receive the grades you deserve. Never wait until the last minute and always utilize your time wisely to complete assignments. Professors are great to correspond with.

I think that it is very important for students to know that staying focused is very important. Each class has specific due dates that students have to keep track of. It is important to keep track of due dates so, that students do not miss any deadlines. Keeping track of deadlines is very important. It is also important to make sure that students communicate with other students when they are working in groups. When working in groups, it is very important for students to continue to communicate with each and every team member in order to get group projects completed.

I wish I would have known the requirements for becoming licensed in my state insted of depending on the UofP to tell me they didn't know after I began my classes. Their follow up is horrible. I waited 4 weeks for an enrollment counselor to contact me. Then after answering me I waited another month because he forgot about me and went on vacation!

I wish that the school was a little more forthcoming about the lack of continuity in the financial aide department. I have found that they change advisors like gloves. I get frustrated because of the lack of continuity. This part of the college experience is very sensitive to me.

I just wish some of the programs were more computer friendly. It is hard to see how the classes are set up at first and how teachers do their syllabus. Over all the staff has been very helpful, from the administration to financial aid. I am still learning the in's and out's. I am a nurse so I learn quickly.

I would have attended this school since the very beginning right after graduating high school. I consider myself fortunate to attend such a wonderful school.

After many years I returned to school and now had a family to take care of as well as a job. Going to school full time is difficult at any age but the older you get and the more responsibilities you have it only gets harder. Take advantage of the advice of other students. Set a schedule for your self and stick to it. Allow yourself enough time to learn the material and if you need help-ASK! Remember, just because you don't have to go to class, doesn't mean you don't have to do the work

When I graduated high school with attendance honors and ranking in the top fourth of the class, I originally was considering going in the military to increase my knowledge, skills, mindset, strength, and focus to advance myself into college and to earn my college credits. Before my son was born I had wished that if I could go into the past and talk to my high school self and convince her to go into the military but now that I have had my son I am unaware of the ramifications if I would have done that.

I had gained all types of knowledge about UOP before I applied. My academic advisor gave me so much information that I felt so confident in UOP that I applied within two hours of speaking with my advisor. I researched at least a dozen online universities. I'm so happy that I chose UOP, could not have asked for a better online school that has a great program!

My counselor was great so I feel I was well informed before enrolling in this school. The one thing I wish I would of known was that there are not very many locations for graduation. I dream of walking across the stage when I am done. Unfortunately I will have to go to a different city or state to make that dream come true.

I wish I had known how easy the enrollment process was and all the support given by the University employees. Enrollment was a breeze because i had three advisors to answer all my questions in ways that I understood. I also wish I had known that the convienence of online classes were truly as they were advertised. I can plan my day around my classes and assignments to fit my daily needs at home.

When I originally came to the University of Phoenix I was taking class on campus. I later switched to Online due to a couple life events. I would have liked to have been back on campus for my advanced 400 level courses, however, most the campus classes for the Accounting courses had been phased out and could only be taken online. I wish I had known about the future unavailability of the campus courses before enrolling. If I had, I would likely have chosen a university local to where I live.

I wish I had known that it is going to be hard. At first, I did not realize how difficult the classes were going to be. I assumed that taking online courses would be easier than the on campus courses I had taken at a previous university. My first few courses were much more challenging than I had expected, but, with much hard work, I have been successful and learned much from my classes.

Before attending University of Phoenix, I wish I had known how quickly a person can become enrolled and begin their classes. I called the University to speak to a counselor regarding my career-choice options and educational goals, before I knew it, I was applying for financial aid and registering for an online orientation class. Three weeks later I found myself beginning my first set of classes. All of this happened before I could reallize that the financial details had not been set. I wish I would have researched different school options as well as schoalarships ahead of time.

Something that I wish I would have known was that going back to school at University of Phoenix is a very helpful school. With all of the professors, as well as advisors are there for you anytime that you need them. The OLS is very easy to nagivate and get the hang of. As going to college online is a challenge, but with Univeisty of Phoenix they help you with time management and making school into a habit.

I was pretty prepared on what to expect out of college. Being a single mother with a full time job seems hard, but having a school like University of Phoenix makes it very easy to manage your time. There is nothing I wish I would have known before going to this school, because I was well prepared aws to what I was about to embark upon.

Before I came to this school, I didn't know exactly how the policy goes with making payments. So when I first signed up and found out that I had to pay for my classes up front almost 2 weeks after I started, it did put me in a little rut. But, I was still able to pull it together and pay it off well. It is important that you ask your student advisor these kinds of questions before you decide on what school to come from. Other than that, I really love this school.
