Number of Awards & Eligibility: Two awards offered annually. One in the fall and one in the spring.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.
  3. Must be an undergraduate student.
  4. Must be majoring in a product design, interaction design, engineering, or computer science program.
  5. Must be 18 or older.

Application requirements for the Build U. Scholarship are:

  • Essay
  • Unoffical transcript
Additional Information: Applications will be reviewed by the Buildum selection committee. The decision of the committee will be based on originality and quality of writing and video submissions.

Award Amount: $2,500, non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $2,500.

Additional information is available on the Buildium website. There is no application for this scholarship program. The student must submit an essay (1,000 words or less) on the topic listed on the website. The essay must be emailed to [email protected] with 'Build U. Scholarship Essay' in the subject line. The student should include his/her full name, email and phone number in the body of the email. Students must also submit a video of between 1 and 2 minutes in length that responds to the following topic prompt: "What would the Build U. Scholarship mean for your education?" Videos may be uploaded to a third party site such as Youtube and submitted as an internet link, attached to the essay email if filesize allows, or sent as a text message to the provided email address. The student must also attach an unofficial transcript (PDF format) to verify eligibility. Only one entry per student per semester will be accepted. All materials must be emailed by the deadline date.
