Number of Awards & Eligibility: Approximately 10 awards offered each year.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. Must have attained a grade point average of 2.75 or higher on a 4.0 scale (or its equivalent) for the last full academic year of school attended.
  2. Must enroll full time.
  3. Must have graduated or be about to graduate from high school (or the equivalent) and be enrolled (or admitted) as an undergraduate student in an accredited college, junior college, university, trade, or business school.
  4. Must exhibit a desire to make life better for pets and their families by pursuing a pet-related career, including pre-veterinary sciences, veterinary technology, and other academic fields that will lead to pet-focused careers. Please note: The scholarships do not cover veterinary school.
  5. This award is for U.S students.
  6. Must be a U.S. citizen.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: This award is available to U.S undergraduate students who are pursuing an education in pet-related fields, including pre-veterinary sciences, veterinary technology, and other academic fields that will lead them to pet-focused careers (veterinary school not eligible). Students must have a grade point average of 2.75 or higher.

Application requirements for the Banfield Foundation Veterinary Assistance Grant are:

Additional Information: Grants are awarded on an objective basis without regard to race, color, age, religion, or gender. In addition to all other eligibility requirements, each student must meet the following criteria: demonstrate sufficient academic ability to complete the courses necessary to graduate from the educational institution at which he/she is enrolled or about to enroll; demonstrate the character and motivation to complete his/her education; demonstrate that he/she has worked with or interacted with pets and families in the past and are dedicated to working with and interacting with them in the future; not be, or be the spouse, parent, sibling, child or grandchild, of a member of the Scholarship Committee, a director or officer of Banfield Charitable Trust, a director or executive officer of Medical Management International, Inc. or any of its subsidiaries, or a "substantial contributor" to the Banfield Charitable Trust. Selection is made by the Campbell Family Scholarship Committee. Scholarship winners must provide a response and adhere to the response deadlines as instructed upon notification. The scholarship will be forfeited and passed to another qualified candidate if the student fails to provide a response by the deadline specified.

Award Amount: Up to $10,000 annually. Awards are not automatically renewable. Students may reapply each year. No recipient will receive scholarships for more than a total of four academic years.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $10,000.
