Number of Awards & Eligibility: One award offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for international and U.S. students.
  2. Must attend a college or university within the designated market area of stations serving the Ohio Valley Chapter region (this includes some schools in Ohio, Kentucky, Indiana, and West Virginia).
  3. Must major in broadcasting and possess a desire to engage in television as a career.
  4. Must enroll full time.
  5. Must be a current undergraduate or graduate student.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: This award is available for U.S. or international undergraduate and/or graduate students who attend a college or university within the designated market area of stations serving the Ohio Valley Chapter region (this includes some schools in Ohio, Kentucky, Indiana, and West Virginia). Students must major in broadcasting.

Application requirements for the David J. Clarke Memorial Scholarship are:

  • Application form
  • Personal statement
  • Recommendation letters (2)
Additional Information: This award will be given to a student who has achieved academic excellence; who is involved in co-curricular television activities (through student media, internships, or related employement); who possesses a desire to engage in television as a career; and who has high integrity and personal character. Financial need may also be considered.

Award Amount: $3,000 annually, non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $3,000.

Applications are available online at the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (NATAS) Ohio Valley Chapter website. In addition to a completed application, the applicant must submit a personal statement addressing the topic listed on the application and two letters of recommendation (one from a faculty member and the other from an industry professional). The application, letters of recommendation, and all supporting documentation must be submitted online. All application materials must be completed online by the deadline.
