Number of Awards & Eligibility: 25 scholarships awarded annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for international and U.S. students.
  2. Must be a resident of the state of Florida.
  3. Must attend a public, private or home education high school program in Florida.
  4. Must be a graduating high school senior at time of application.
  5. Must demonstrate artistic merit and academic excellence in creative writing, dance, music, theatre or visual arts.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: This award is available for U.S. and international high school seniors who are residents of the state of Florida and attend high school in Florida. Students must demonstrate artistic merit and academic excellence in creative writing, dance, music, theatre or visual arts.

Application requirements for the Arts for Life! Scholarship are:

  • Application form (three copies)
  • Essay (three copies)
  • Wallet-sized photo
  • Resume (three copies)
  • Signed artist release form (three copies)
  • Work sample
Additional Information: In addition to the program's $2,000 cash award, winners will be automatically eligible to receive a matching in-kind scholarship worth a minimum $1,000 if they attend one of the participating Florida institutions for higher education: Broward College, College of Central Florida, Flagler College, Florida College, Florida Atlantic University, Florida Institute of Technology, Jacksonville University, Nova Southeastern University, Stetson University, and University of Florida.

Award Amount: $2,000 annually, non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $2,000.

Applications and information about this award can be found online at the Arts for Life! website. In addition to a completed application, each student must also submit the following: a wallet-size photo (electronic or printed); a brief essay (500 words or less) explaining 'How the arts have positively influenced my life'; a resume; a signed artist release form (page eight of the application); and a portfolio of work in visual art, music, dance, drama or creative writing as detailed in the application. The completed application must be signed by a parent, teacher and principal to indicate approval of the content of the portfolio and essay. Teacher and principal signatures are not required for home education students. The applicant should submit the original and three copies of the application, essay, resume, and artist release form. The application and all supporting materials must be submitted online or by mail to the address provided, and must be received by the deadline date.
