Number of Awards & Eligibility: One scholarship will be provided each year the program is available.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. Must be a graduate of a high school in Springfield, MA.
  2. Must be majoring in music.
  3. Must attend an accredited college or university in the U.S.

Additional Information: The Lee S. Crabtree Scholarship Fund awards annual scholarships to graduates of high schools in Springfield, MA. Applicants must be majoring in music at an accredited college or university, and additional preference will be given to students who previously attended and graduated from Springfield Central High School or Springfield High School of Science and Technology.

Award Amount: Scholarships are typically awarded in the amount of $1,000 and are non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $1,000.

Applications for the Lee S. Crabtree Scholarship Fund are available and accepted between January 1 and March 31. To apply for this scholarship, students must complete the online application at the Community Foundation of Western Massachusetts website. Completed application forms will also require students to submit a recent copy of transcripts as well as their current year Student Aid Report. The Student Aid report is obtained when the student completes the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). All applications must be submitted online no later than the deadline date.
