Number of Awards & Eligibility: One award offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be a resident of one of the following states: Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana or Alaska.
  3. Must be a U.S. citizen.
  4. Preference is given to students who are self-identified lesbian, gay, bisexual, or transgendered; members of LGBT families; or allies who have been strongly supportive of the LGBT community.
  5. Must be a high school senior or enrolled in or planning to enroll in a graduate or undergraduate program.
  6. Must major in visual arts and/or design.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: This award is available for U.S. citizens have been living in Washington state, Oregon, Idaho, Montana, or Alaska for at least one year. Applicants must be enrolled or planning to enroll in a postsecondary program studying visual arts and design. Preference is given to self-identified LGBT students, members of LGBT families, and straight allies who have been supportive of the LGBT community.

Application requirements for the Ric Ulrich and Chuck Pischke Scholarship are:

  • Essays (6)
  • Work samples (2)
  • Interview (finalists only)
Additional Information: Pride Foundation is able to offer a diversity of scholarships, which encourage students of different backgrounds and educational interests to apply. Most scholarships are available for straight ally or questioning students as well as student of LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender) parents. All promote leadership and diversity in the LGBT community.

Award Amount: The monetary award amount varies and is determined by the Pride Foundation. Generally, scholarships offered through the foundation are a minimum of $500 to a maximum of $12,000. The award is offered annually and is non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $12,000.
