Number of Awards & Eligibility: Two or more awards offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be a U.S. citizen or legal resident.
  3. Must be a graduating high school senior.
  4. Must enroll full time in an accredited college, university or vocational school in the United States in the fall.
  5. Must have an unweighted grade point average of 2.0 or higher.
  6. Must have made an outstanding contribution to his/her local community through volunteer action including, but not limited to, Becca's Closet.
  7. Must demonstrate financial need.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: U.S. high school seniors who have been involved in community service, including, but not limited to Becca's Closet, are eligible to apply for this award. Students must enroll full time and have an unweighted grade point average of 2.0 or higher.

Application requirements for the Becca’s Closet Spirit of Generosity Scholarship are:

  • Recommendation letter
  • FAFSA
  • Application form
  • Official Transcript
  • Tax return
  • SAR
Additional Information: The purpose of this scholarships is to encourage high school students who have demonstrated outstanding community service in high school or college to continue their efforts throughout their lives and to encourage others to do the same.

Award Amount: $1,000 annually, non-renewable. Scholarship money awarded will be sent directly to the recipient's institution. A previous recipient may reapply.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $2,000.

Applications are available online from the Becca's Closet website. In addition to the completed application, each student must submit official transcripts; two letters of recommendation, one from an adult sponsor and one from a faculty sponsor; a copy of his/her parents' federal income tax returns for the past two years; a copy of the one-page Student Aid Report (SAR); and a typed essay of no more than 1,000 words in length describing his/her community service and involvement. The SAR is obtained by filing the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid). The FAFSA is available online at www.fafsa.ed.gov, at high school guidance offices, and at college financial aid offices. Applications must be postmarked by the deadline date. Personal drop-off and overnight delivery will not be accepted. Late submissions will not be considered.
