Number of Awards & Eligibility: Two awards offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be a resident of Washington state.
  3. Must be a high school senior.
  4. Must have a history of achievement despite having been a victim of injury or overcoming a disability, handicap, or similar challenge.
  5. Must be a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident.

Application requirements for the WSAJ Past Presidents’ Scholarship are:

Additional Information: First awarded in 1991, the WSAJ Past President's Scholarship was established to support and encourage the efforts of high school students who have overcome obstacles to achieve academically and socially. Past recipients have included cancer survivors, auto accident victims and teenagers with physical challenges.

Award Amount: $2,000 annually, non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $2,000.

Additional information can be found on the Washington State Association for Justice website. To apply, students must send a letter to the scholarship committee describing his/her qualifications and why he/she deserves the scholarship. In the letter, students must include: all relevant transcripts; contact information for two references; a financial statement; his/her contact information; and a completed 'Application Checklist' form. All materials must be emailed to the addresses provided by the deadline date.
