Number of Awards & Eligibility: One award offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.
  3. Must be currently enrolled or planning to enroll by fall into an accredited postsecondary program, which includes: community colleges, private or public undergraduate colleges and universities, private or public graduate degree programs, law programs, and business programs.
  4. Must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher.
  5. Must possess a proven commitment to community service and citizenry.

Description: This scholarship is open to U.S. undergraduate and graduate students who demonstrate a commitment to community service and citizenry. Students must have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher.

Application requirements for the Outstanding Citizen Scholarship are:

  • Resume
  • Essay
  • Recommendation letter
  • Official Transcript
Additional Information: The winner will be announced in summer.

Award Amount: $1000 annually, non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $1,000.

Application information is available on the scholarship program website. To apply, the student must submit the following materials: an updated resumé that includes academic, professional, and volunteer experiences with a focus on community service and citizenry; a 500-word essay answering the question posted on the website; a letter of recommendation from someone who can attest to his/her great work on a community service project; and a current official academic transcript indicating grade point average. Applicants who cannot furnish an official transcript from their current institution may submit both an unofficial transcript from their current place of learning as well as an official transcript from the last school they attended. Applications may be faxed or mailed using the contact information provided and must be submitted by the deadline date.
