Wisconsin Institute of Certified Public Accountants (WICPA) Educational Foundation
Awards are distributed as follows: nine $2,500 scholarships to students to assist in the last year of the 150-hour requirement to apply for a Wisconsin CPA license; and one $5,000 scholarship to assist a student in the last year of a 150-hour program resulting in a master's degree. All scholarships are non-renewable.

The scholarships are named after former WICPA Executive Director LeRoy C. Schmidt, CPA. Schmidt was executive director from 1990 to 2006. He passionately promoted the accounting profession and was actively involved in the legislative process. Recipients must agree to participate in one of the following activities: speak at a high school; write for 'CPA2b'; become a student member of the Young Professionals Committee; attend a Young Professionals continuing education with social event. The recipients will be announced in April for the upcoming school year with the award payment to be made in August, directly to the student.
