In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be a resident of one of the following states: Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana or Alaska.
  3. Must be a current or future LGBT or straight ally leader and role model.
  4. Must be a U.S. citizen.
  5. Must be a high school senior, undergraduate, or graduate student at time of application.

Description: This award is available for U.S. citizens who have been living in Washington state, Oregon, Idaho, Montana, or Alaska for at least one year. Applicants must be current and future LGBT and straight-ally leaders and role models.

Additional Information: Pride Foundation is able to offer a diversity of scholarships, which encourage students of different backgrounds and educational interests to apply. Most scholarships are available for straight ally or questioning students as well as student of LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender) parents. All promote leadership and diversity in the LGBT community.

Award Amount: The monetary award amount varies and is determined by the Pride Foundation. Generally, scholarships offered through the foundation are a minimum of $500 to a maximum of $12,000. The average award amount per recipient last year was $4,160. The award is offered annually and is non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $12,000.
