Description: Academic Competitiveness Grants (ACG) are need-based grant programs to complement the Federal Pell Grant Program. They are awards for first- and second-year undergraduates who completed a rigorous high school curriculum. To receive an ACG, a first-year student must have completed secondary school after Jan. 1, 2006.

Application requirements for the Academic Competitiveness Grant (ACG, SMART Grants) are:

  • FAFSA by School's financial aid deadline
Additional Information: Applicants must be U.S. citizens and Federal Pell Grant recipients. Student must be enrolled in a full-time degree program in a four-year degree granting institution. The student must also major in physical, life, or computer science, engineering, mathematics, technology, or a critical foreign language. It is necessary to have at least a cumulative 3.0 grade point average on a 4.0 scale.

Award Amount: 4000  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $4,000.
