Number of Awards & Eligibility: Multiple awards are offered annually. Last year, eight awards were provided.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be a U.S. citizen or eligible non-citizen.
  3. Must be a graduating high school senior who will have freshman standing at an eligible college/university in fall following application.
  4. Must have a grade point average of 2.5 or higher OR an ACT composite score of 18 or higher.
  5. Must attend a high school in the Tri-State Region, which is defined as the following counties: Boone, Bracken, Campbell, Gallatin, Grant, and Kenton counties in Kentucky; Dearborn, Franklin, Ohio, Switzerland, and Union counties in Indiana; Brown, Butler, Clermont, Clinton, Greene, Hamilton, Highland, Montgomery, Preble, and Warren counties in Ohio.
  6. Must enter an accredited Tri-State college or university. A list of eligible institutions is available on the application. Please note: The student should contact the Anthony Muñoz Foundation if his/her school is not listed.
  7. Must enroll as a full-time student.

Description: This scholarship is open to U.S. high school seniors who attend a high school in the Tri-State (OH, IN, KY) area and plan to attend a college/university in the Tri-State area. Students must have a grade point average of 2.5 or higher or an ACT composite score of 18 or higher, and must demonstrate financial need.

Additional Information: The Anthony Muñoz Scholarship Fund was created by Anthony Muñoz and his family to support Tri-State youth in achieving their dreams of attending a local college or university. All applicants must demonstrate a desire and intent to overcome adversity, have financial need, excel academically, and fulfill a leadership role in the community. Semi-finalists will be interviewed by AMF Scholarship Fund selection committee in May. Finalists will be announced on May 30, and must attend the award ceremony held on a date TBA in Mason, OH.

Award Amount: Scholarships of up to $20,000 will be provided to the recipients. The total amount of the scholarship award will be determined by the Anthony Muñoz Foundation. The award may be renewable if the recipient maintains full-time status and a grade point average of 2.0 or higher.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $20,000.

Applications are available on the Anthony Muñoz Foundation website. In addition to a completed application, each student must submit the following supporting documents: a personal statement of adversity or intent to overcome; an acceptance letter from his/her intended college/university, if available; his/her college/university student ID number, if available; a current resume; a high school transcript for the entirety of high school career up to date of application submission; other financial award notifications being received (i.e., other scholarships or grants); and current financial information for family, including FAFSA, SAR, and the application financial sheet. Please note: The SAR (Student Aid Report) is generated after submission of the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid). The FAFSA is available online at, at high school guidance offices, and at college financial aid offices. Applications may be mailed or faxed using the contact information provided. All application materials must be received by the deadline date.
