Number of Awards & Eligibility: Five scholarships of up to $2,000 will be awarded.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. Must be a high school senior.
  2. Must be between the ages of 17-19.
  3. Must reside in Harris County and all contiguous counties: Waller County, Montgomery County, Liberty County, Fort Bend County and Brazoria County in Texas.

Application requirements for the City of Houston Public Service Recognition Week Scholarship Essay Contest are:

Additional Information: This scholarship essay contest is for all houston area high school seniors (12th grade) ages 17-19, from public or private schools who reside in Harris County and all contiguous counties: Waller County, Montgomery County, Liberty County, Fort Bend County and Brazoria County. Scholarships are awarded on merits of the essay. Citizenship, transcripts, GPA, class rank and financial need are NOT taken into consideration. More contest details available on provider website.

Award Amount: Students can receive up to $2,000.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $2,000.
