Number of Awards & Eligibility: Please note: The number of recipients for this program varies according to the number of students meeting the eligibility requirements in any given year. Each student meeting the requirements will receive an award.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.
  3. Must be an incoming college freshman or transfer student.
  4. Must plan to attend Dordt College in Iowa.
  5. Must have a parent or sponsor who is a Dordt College alumni. The sponsor must have attended the equivalent of two full semesters or more.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: U.S. freshmen and transfer students who plan to enroll full time at Dordt College in Iowa are eligible for this award. Students' mother or father must be Dordt alumni (attended equivalent of two full semesters).

Application requirements for the Dordt College Alumni Grant are:

  • Application form
  • Official Transcript
  • ACT/SAT scores
Additional Information: It is highly recommended that the scholarship reference be written by a Dordt College alumnus. If no alumnus is available, someone who understands the mission of Dordt College may write the reference.

Award Amount: $800 annually, renewable for up to three years as long as the recipient maintains full-time enrollment.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $3,200.

Applications for admission are available online from the Dordt College website. There is a separate application for this award that requires the student receive a recommendation from a sponsor who is an alumni at Dordt College. In addition to the completed application, the student must submit official transcripts (from high school and college) and his/her ACT/SAT scores. The $25 application fee will be waived if the student applies before Dec. 31. The application for admission may be submitted electronically. All other forms and payments may be sent to Dort College Admissions at the address provided. Applications must be received by the deadline date.
