Number of Awards & Eligibility: The number of awards offered varies annually. All FAU Office of Undergraduate Admissions scholarships are limited in number, competitive, and are awarded annually on a rolling basis early in the scholarship cycle. Meeting minimum requirements does not guarantee a scholarship.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be a National Merit Scholar.
  3. Must be accepted to Florida Atlantic University.
  4. Must enroll full time.
  5. Must enroll as a first-time freshman.
  6. Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.
  7. Must attend a college or university in Florida.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: This award is available to U.S. high school students who have been admitted to Florida Atlantic University. The student must be named a National Merit Scholar by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC).

Application requirements for the FAU National Merit Scholarship are:

  • Essay
  • Application form
  • Documentation of Merit Scholar designation
Additional Information: Candidates for this award are selected by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC). An eligible student may receive only one admissions scholarship unless otherwise stated in the scholarship award letter. Generally, scholarships are not stackable.

Award Amount: $7,500 annually, renewable for up to three additional years. Scholarship recipients must maintain an FAU grade point average of 3.0 for award renewal.Please note: All awards are paid out in the fall and spring terms only (excludes summer semesters).  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $7,500.
