Number of Awards & Eligibility: No more than 90 awards offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be a U.S. citizen.
  3. Must be a graduating high school senior or older to apply for this freshman year award. Nontraditional students may apply if they have never attended college and meet all requirements.
  4. Must have a high school cumulative average of 3.0 or higher.
  5. Must have an ACT score between 23 and 24.
  6. Must enroll and complete 15 credit hours each semester.
  7. Must attend Henderson State University in Arkansas.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: U.S. incoming college freshmen with an ACT score between 23 and 24 and a high school cumulative 3.0 grade point average are eligible for this award. Students must plan to attend Henderson State University in Arkansas. Non-traditional students may apply if they have never attended college.

Additional Information: Students who meet the deadline are not guaranteed a scholarship. Students previously enrolled in college full-time are not eligible to apply for first-time freshmen scholarships. International students are not eligible to apply for academic scholarships. Students cannot be awarded more than one academic scholarship.

Award Amount: $3,500 to $4,000 annually, renewable for up to three years (eight consecutive semesters) as long as the recipient completes 30 credit hours and maintains a cumulative 2.75 grade point average at the end of each academic year.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $12,000.

Applications are available online from the Henderson State University (HSU) website. Each student must be admitted to HSU prior to applying for a scholarship. In addition to the completed application, the student must submit the high school verification form (page two of the application), completed by a high school counselor or principal. Applications must be submitted by the deadline date. Early application is highly recommended, as awards are offered on a first-come, first-serve basis, and may be depleted prior to the scheduled deadline.
