In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be a U.S. citizen.
  3. Must be a resident of Indiana.
  4. Must attend an eligible public or independent college in Indiana.
  5. Must be enrolled in an undergraduate degree program.
  6. Must be enrolled in at least 3 but less than 12 credit hours.

Description: This grant is available for Indiana residents undergratuate students who are enrolled part-time at an eligible Indiana college or university. The student must demonstrate financial need.

Additional Information: The Part-Time Grant program is designed to encourage part-time undergraduates to start and complete their Associate or Baccalaureate degrees or Certificates by subsidizing part-time tuition costs. It is specifically designed to help those undergraduates who are taking at least 6 but less than 12 credit hours per term at an eligible institution. The students must meet State residency requirements, have filed a FAFSA and otherwise qualify for state aid.

Award Amount: The award amount varies and is calculated by the college or university based on financial need. Awards may range from $50 to $4,500 annually. Award duration may not exceed the equivalent of eight semesters of full-time study. To renew the award, the student must submit a new FAFSA and maintain satisfactory academic progress in his/her studies (as determined by the institution).  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $1,097.

Additional information about this award is available from the Indiana Commission for Higher Education Division of Student Financial Aid's (SFA) website. To apply, students must complete and submit a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and complete the Part-Time Grant application. The FAFSA is available online at www.fafsa.ed.gov, at high school guidance offices, and at college financial aid offices. Students can complete the application one of two ways: The application is available online at the end of the student's FAFSA submission. After the completion of the FAFSA, students will be eligible to transfer FAFSA information to the state's application. This feature is only available once on the student's confirmation page after submitting the FAFSA. If a student does not complete the Part-Time Grant application at this time, he or she will be able to complete the application at a later date. If a student did not complete the Part-Time Grant application directly from the FAFSA, he or she can link directly to the application once the state has received the student's FAFSA data from the federal processor. The FAFSA must be received by the Federal Processor for state scholarship/grant consideration after January 1st each year for award consideration for the upcoming award year.
