Number of Awards & Eligibility: One award offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be a resident of Hawaii.
  3. Must plan to attend an accredited two- or four-year college or university as a full-time student (12 credits per semester).
  4. Must be attending King Kekaulike High School in Pukalani, HI.
  5. Must be a U.S. citizen.
  6. Must demonstrate academic achievement with a grade point average of 2.8 or higher.
  7. Must have three or more hours of community service.
  8. Must be a high school senior at time of application.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: This scholarship is available for Hawaii high school seniors who are attending King Kekaulike High School and have a grade point average of 2.8 or higher. Students must have three or more hours of community service.

Additional Information: This scholarship was established by the KKHS WOW committee in 1998. The committee was formed to promote and recognize the wonderful and outstanding work among staff members and students of Kekaulike High School. Please note: Children of King Kekaulike High School staff members are not eligible. All applicants must demonstrate financial need and good moral character. Recipients will be notified after the scholarship selection committees meet, which could be any time between May and August.

Award Amount: Approximately $1,000 annually, non-renewable. Students may reapply each year.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $1,000.

Online application forms are available on the Hawai'i Community Foundation website. The student should visit the Hawai'i Community Foundation's website for detailed instructions on how to complete the online application. In addition to the online application form, the student must submit the following supporting materials: the printed confirmation page that is generated after applying online; a typed, double-spaced personal statement of two to three pages answering the questions listed at the provider's website; an official copy of his/her most recent transcript; and a copy of his/her SAR (Student Aid Report). The SAR is obtained by filing the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid). The FAFSA is available online, at high school guidance offices, and at college financial aid offices. A typed, double-spaced, 500-word essay must also be submitted for this scholarship. The essay must address how well Na Ali's three R's (respect, relevance, and rigor) relates to his/her future goals. *Please note: The essay does not replace the personal statement. Note: Students WILL NOT be able to submit their application until all required supporting documents are electronically attached to the application. The application must be submitted by 4 p.m. HST on the deadline date.
