Number of Awards & Eligibility: One award offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be a U.S. citizen.
  3. Must be a graduating high school senior to apply for this freshman year award.
  4. Must have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher.
  5. Must have an SAT score of 990 or higher OR an ACT score of 21 or higher.
  6. Must attend a high school in Madison County, Madison City, Huntsville City, or Lawrence County.
  7. Must attend a four-year Alabama college or university. A student planning to attend a junior college or vocational school does not qualify.

Description: U.S. graduating high school seniors enrolled in school in Madison County, Madison City, Huntsville City, or Lawrence County who are planning to attend four-year Alabama colleges or universities are eligible for this award. Additional Information: LogiCore employees and their immediate families are eligible. Entries will be judged on expression of ideas, originality and overall content. Consideration will be given to applicant’s need, community involvement, awards, honors and achievements. The recipient and other participants will be notified by April 20.

Award Amount: $1,500 cash annually, non-renewable. The recipient will also receive a Dell laptop.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $1,500.

Applications are available on the LogiCore website. In addition to the completed online application, the student must submit a cover sheet with his/her name, mailing address, email address, the name and address of selected Alabama college or cniversity, parents' or legal guardians' name and contact information, and his/her declared major and an essay on one of the listed topics. The essay must be between 500 and 1,500 words in length, typewritten in Arial size 12 font and double-spaced. The applicant must also provide an official copy of his/her high school transcript, mailed directly from his/her school and three letters of recommendation. Letters must be from teachers, guidance counselors or principal of the entrant’s high school. Applications and essays may be submitted online or mailed to LogiCare using the address provided, postmarked by the deadline date.
