Number of Awards & Eligibility: One award offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. Must attend University of Rochester.
  2. Must attend a college or university in New York.
  3. This award is for international students.
  4. Must be a high school senior or recent high school graduate who has not yet attended college or university.
  5. Must be an Indian citizen, a PIO card holder, or studying at a high school located in India.

Description: The Next Genius University of Rochester Scholarship is available for high school seniors in India who demonstrate critical thinking, a passion for education, and the desire to create positive changes in the world. Recipients must attend the University of Rochester to receive the award.

Additional Information: The Next Genius Foundation, founded in 2014, is a registered charitable trust in India that offers full and partial tuition scholarships to outstanding Indian high school students. Scholarship funds may be used to pursue an undergraduate education in North America or Europe. Scholarships will be awarded to those applicants who demonstrate a strong ability to think critically, a passion for learning, and a desire to bring a positive change in the world.

Award Amount: Up to full tuition, annually. Awards are renewable for four full years of undergraduate study.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $100,284.

Applications for the Next Genius University of Rochester Scholarship are available online at the Next Genius website. To apply for an award, students must complete the online registration and application form prior to the listed deadline date. Registration requires submission of personal, academic, and contact information. Registered students must also participate in the online critical thinking assessment on October 11th to 13th. This online assessment is designed to measure the applicants' ability to read effectively, reason, analyze data, and solve puzzles. Students who perform at the top levels in the assessment must submit the online financial aid forms and college applications no later than December 14, and participate in an in-person interview. Interviews will be conducted on January 11th and 12th, 2020, in Mumbai. Although students must complete all sections of the online application by the corresponding deadlines, only applicants that register by October 10 will be considered in the later phases of selection.
