Number of Awards & Eligibility: One award offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be a resident of Chittenden County, Vermont.
  3. Must seek a degree in business or a related field.
  4. Must be a U.S. citizen or eligible non-citizen.
  5. Must demonstrate entrepreneurial skills, endeavors, and/or achievements.
  6. Must be an incoming or current undergraduate student.
  7. Must demonstrate academic achievement.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: This scholarship is available for Vermont undergraduate students who are residents of Chittenden County and seeking a degree in business or a related field. Students must demonstrate entrepreneurial skills, endeavors, and/or achievements; academic achievement; and community involvement.

Additional Information: The Paul Gallagher Entrepreneurial Scholarship was established by the Lake Champlain Regional Chamber of Commerce to provide Chittenden County residents with financial assistance to pursue postsecondary degrees in business or a related field. Applicants must attend an accredited postsecondary school approved for federal Title IV funding, and must demonstrate community involvement. Selection is based on application documents and academic achievement. There are approximately 45 applicants for this award each year.

Award Amount: Up to $2,000 annually, non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $2,000.

Applications are available from the Vermont Student Assistance Corporation (VSAC) website. Applications may be completed either online or in paper form beginning on November 1. Please note: The student is only required to submit one application for all scholarships for which he/she wishes to apply. In addition, if a particular document is required for more than one scholarship, the student need only submit one copy of that document. To apply, the student must complete and submit the VSAC Unified Scholarship Application and submit the following materials: a letter of recommendation; an essay; and official transcripts. NOTE: Required additional materials MUST conform to the detailed instructions in the VSAC Scholarships Booklet. The student is highly encouraged to review the booklet thoroughly when assembling materials. Electronic applications and any digital versions of supplemental materials must be submitted by midnight on the deadline date. Paper applications or any supplemental materials in paper form must be postmarked by the deadline date.
