Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. - Psi Mu Zeta Chapter

Number of Awards & Eligibility: Two awards offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.
  3. Must be a current high school senior who has been accepted to a four-year accredited college or university undergraduate program or two-year community college.
  4. Must be African American.
  5. Must be a resident of Mecklenburg County, North Carolina.
  6. Must have a cumulative weighted grade point average of 3.2 or higher.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: This scholarship is open to African-American high school seniors who reside in Mecklenburg County, North Carolina. Students must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.2 or higher.

  • Essay
Additional Information: Scholarship recipients are asked to attend the Annual Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc.-Psi Mu Zeta Prayer Breakfast to formally receive their scholarship award. Information regarding the Prayer Breakfast is provided to the scholarship recipients prior to the event. In addition, recipients will be expected to participate in two community service events sponsored by Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc.-Psi Mu Zeta Graduate Chapter.

Award Amount: $500 annually, non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $500.

Applications are available on the Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Inc.-Psi Mu Zeta Chapter website. In addition to a completed application, each student must submit the following materials: a sealed copy of his/her official high school transcript; a copy of his/her acceptance letter from college/university (if not available at time of application, must be submitted before acceptance of award); a 500-word essay addressing the topic listed on the application; and a resume (optional). Application materials may be emailed or mailed to the addresses provided. Applications must be emailed or postmarked by the deadline date. Any incomplete or unsigned documents will automatically disqualify the application.
