Additional Information: The Raytown Class of 1956 Scholarship Fund was established by Raytown High School's graduating class of 1956 and seeks to assist in the educational expenses of future graduates. Award selection will be based on a combination of academic achievement, demonstrated financial need, and involvement with community service or other extracurricular activities. Questions and requests for additional information about this award should be directed to the Raytown High School counselor. This scholarship is administered through the Greater Kansas City Community Foundation (GKCCF), a local area charity founded in 1978 with the purpose of providing a dedicated and consolidated resource for diverse and otherwise unrelated charity efforts. From its humble beginnings, the scope of the GKCCF has expanded to include the broader regional area, as well as national inititatives, scholarships, and other programs designed to benefit communities across the country.

Award Amount: The award amount varies annually depending on the amount of funding that is available. Students may be eligible to renew so long as they maintain a grade point average of 2.0 or higher.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $1,000.

Applications and information about the Raytown Class of 1956 Scholarship Fund are available online at the Greater Kansas City Community Foundation (GKCCF) website. To be considered for this scholarship, students must submit a completed online application form as well as the following documents and responses to the supplemental questions: a completed educational budget section of the application; an essay of up to 500 words in length addressing the topic on the application; a brief personal statement detailing any unusual circumstances or causes of financial need; and a letter of recommendation from someone who is not related to the applicant. All applications and supporting documents must be submitted online by the deadline date. Any late or incomplete submissions will be discarded.
