Number of Awards & Eligibility: One or more scholarships will be awarded annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. Must reside in Springfield, MA or Hartford, CT.
  2. Must be a high school senior at the time of application.
  3. Must have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher.

Description: The Ronald A. Copes Scholarship Fund is available for graduating high school seniors in Springfield, MA or Hartford, CT who have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher.

Additional Information: The Ronald A. Copes Scholarship Fund provides annual scholarships for the benefit of local area students. Applicants must be current high school seniors who reside in Springfield, MA or Hartford, CT. Students must also have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher and a history of participation in extracurricular activities. The Community Foundation of Western Massachusetts provides all scholarship admiistration and management of the award fund. Students who apply for an award through the Community Foundation will be considered for all scholarships they are eligible for.

Award Amount: Scholarships are valued at approximately $1,000. All awards are provided on a one-time basis and are non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $1,000.

Applications for the Ronald A. Copes Scholarship Fund are available and accepted between January 1 and March 31. To apply for this scholarship, students must complete the online application at the Community Foundation of Western Massachusetts website. Completed application forms will also require students to submit a recent copy of transcripts as well as their current year Student Aid Report. The Student Aid report is obtained when the student completes the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). All applications must be submitted online no later than the deadline date.
