Number of Awards & Eligibility: Two awards offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for international and U.S. students.
  2. Must be a current undergraduate student.
  3. Must be pursuing a course of study in industrial engineering.
  4. Must be an Institute of Industrial & Systems Engineers member as reflected on his/her October chapter roster or before. New member applications must be completely processed prior to the end of September in order for a student to be eligible.
  5. Must enroll as a full-time student.
  6. Must be a minority.
  7. Must have a grade point average of 3.4 or higher.
  8. Must attend a college or university in the U.S., a U.S. territory, Canada, or Mexico.

Description: This award is for minority undergraduate students who have a grade point average of 3.4 or higher and are members of the Institute of Industrial & Systems Engineers (IISE). The student must major in industrial engineering and may attend an institution in the U.S., its territories, Canada or Mexico.

Application requirements for the United Parcel Service Scholarship for Minority Students are:

Additional Information: IISE's scholarship and fellowship program is in place to recognize undergraduate industrial engineering students for academic excellence and campus leadership.

Award Amount: $4,000 annually, non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $4,000.

A student cannot directly apply for this scholarship; he/she must be nominated by his/her industrial engineering department head or faculty adviser. Nomination forms are available on the Institute of Industrial & Systems Engineers (IISE) website and must be completed online by Nov. 15. Please note: Students that are nominated and selected as a finalist will be sent an application package to complete and return to IISE. Applications must be postmarked on or before Feb. 1.
