Number of Awards & Eligibility: The number of awards offered varies annually. In a typical year, approximately 20 scholarships are awarded.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. Must attend Concordia College at Moorhead, Minnesota.
  2. This award is for U.S. students.
  3. Must major in music and audition in piano, voice, guitar, strings, woodwind, brass, percussion, or composition.
  4. Must be a graduating high school senior at the time of application.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: U.S. graduating high school seniors or transfer students who have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher and plan to attend Concordia College in Minnesota are eligible for this award. Scholarships will be awarded in piano, voice, guitar, strings, woodwind, brass, percussion, and composition.

Additional Information: Semifinalists will be invited to campus for an interview and an audition. The applicant will perform individually before music faculty. He/she will also have an opportunity to attend band, choir and orchestra concerts, visit non-music classes, faculty in other departments and have the option of an overnight student host for his/her stay.

Award Amount: Scholarships range in value from $2,000 to $6,000 annually, and may be renewable for up to three years so long as the student remains in good academic standing and enrolled in the music program.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $16,000.

Applications are available online from the Concordia College website. The applicant must first apply for admission to Concordia College. In addition to the completed application, the student must submit a high-quality audio recording and two letters of musical recommendation from music directors and teachers. If the applicant is applying in more than one performance area, he/she only needs to submit the application one time; however, he/she will be able to upload a separate recording for each performance area (for a maximum of three). Applications must be submitted/postmarked by the deadline date.
