Number of Awards & Eligibility: The number of awards offered varies annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be a U.S. citizen.
  3. Must be an incoming undergraduate transfer student.
  4. Must plan to attend McMurry University in Texas.
  5. Must enroll full time.
  6. Must attend a college or university in Texas.

Description: U.S. undergraduate students who plan to transfer to McMurry University in Texas are eligible for this award. Scholarships are based on grade point average and financial need.

Application requirements for the McMurry University Transfer Scholarship are:

  • Application form
  • Official Transcript
  • ACT/SAT scores (if under 22)
  • $25 app. fee
Additional Information: The Financial Aid Office reserves the right to replace institutional grants and scholarships with other gift aid sources in the same amounts, in order to maximize limited resources. Please note that the total amount of gift aid awarded will not be reduced. McMurry based scholarship/awards will not exceed the cost of tuition. Military awards cannot be stacked with Freshman or Transfer Scholarship/awards.

Award Amount: $8,000 to $12,000 annually, renewable until degree completion. Award amounts vary based on grade point average and financial need.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $46,000.

Scholarship information is available online on the McMurry University website. Students must apply for admission to McMurry University to be considered for this scholarship. A separate scholarship application is not required. Admissions information is available online at All students must submit the Texas Common Application. In addition to the application, each student must submit the following materials: a $25 application fee; an official and complete set of transcripts from each college or university attended; an official high school transcript if he/she has fewer than 24 transferable credits; and ACT and/or SAT scores (if under the age of 22). All students must also complete the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) for award consideration. The FAFSA is available online at, at high school guidance offices, and at college financial aid offices. Applications must be submitted by July 15 for priority consideration.
