Number of Awards & Eligibility: One award offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for international and U.S. students.
  2. Must be a full-time student enrolled in a state-accredited undergraduate program.
  3. Must have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher.
  4. Must be in a program preparatory to a career in the nonwovens industry or demonstrate an interest in the areas covered by TAPPI's Nonwovens Division.
  5. Must be currently enrolled at the undergraduate level.

Description: This scholarship is available for international and U.S. undergraduate students who are in a program preparatory to a career in the nonwovens industry or demonstrate an interest in the areas covered by TAPPI's Nonwovens Division. Students must have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher.

Additional Information: The Nonwovens Division focuses on promoting the objectives of TAPPI with respect to materials, equipment, and processes for the manufacture and use of nonwovens.

Award Amount: $1,000 annually, non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $1,000.

Applications are available online on the Technical Association for the Pulp, Paper, and Converting Industry (TAPPI) website under the 'Honors' tab. A complete application package must include the following: a completed 'Scholarship Checklist'; a completed 'General Information Form' (only one form needs to be submitted to apply for multiple scholarships); an official transcript; letters of recommendation from faculty members as required by each particular division's scholarship; and additional letters of recommendation from persons (other than relatives) who are familiar with the applicant's character, interests in the industries served by TAPPI in accordance with each particular division's scholarship, school activities, leadership roles, and educational accomplishments. The application and all additional materials must be sent to TAPPI either by mail or email and be received by the deadline date. If applying by mail, the student's school must send the transcript directly to TAPPI. If applying by email, all additional documents may be scanned and emailed.
