Number of Awards & Eligibility: One scholarship will be provided each year that the contest is offered.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. Must have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher.
  2. Must be currently enrolled in a community college, undergraduate program, or graduate program. Graduating high school seniors who will be enrolled during the upcoming academic semester are also eligible to apply.

Description: The Texas Law Dog Animal Rescue Scholarship is available for current undergraduate and graduate students who have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher and a personal experience with rescued animals.

Application requirements for the Texas Law Dog Animal Rescue Scholarship are:

Additional Information: The Texas Law Dog Animal Rescue Scholarship is provided annually to students who have a personal experience with rescue animals - including those who have adopted one as well as students who have volunteered or worked at an animal shelter. Scholarship award selection will primarily consider the strength of submitted essays as well as applicants' academic achievements.

Award Amount: $1,000 annually, non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $1,000.

Application instructions and additional information about the Texas Law Dog Animal Rescue Scholarship are availble online using the provided links. To be considered for this scholarship, students must first write an original essay of approximately 750 words in length in response to the following topic prompt: "Discuss your personal relationship with a rescue animal or volunteer animal organization and how it has impacted your life. How do you dedicate your time to helping animals and animal rescue organizations?" In addition to the essay, students must also submit a recent resume and a copy of trancripts from the applicant's current educational institution. Submissions must be made by email with each document (essay, resume, and transcripts) uploaded as an attachment. Subject titles for email submissions must be as follows: Name of the Applicant — Animal Rescue Scholarship. All applications must be received no later than the deadline date.
