Application requirements for the VA Two-Year College Transfer Grant Program are:

  • FAFSA
  • Contact Institution
Additional Information: The majority of Virginia's financial aid programs are decentralized to the higher education institutions. While the SCHEV has administrative and financial oversight over most of these programs, the Financial Aid Office at each participating institution can explain, in more details, about each source of aid. The institution will: oversee the application process; allocate awards to students; and determine the student's eligibility. Financial need is determined by the student's Estimated Family Contribution (EFC). The Expected Family Contribution (EFC) is calculated by the U.S. Department of Education using information provided on the FAFSA. To be eligible for this award the student must have an EFC of $12,000 or less. Awarding priority is given to students having the highest financial need and continuing until all funds are expended.

Award Amount: Up to $1,000, with an additional $1,000 for students in select programs.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $3,750.
