Number of Awards & Eligibility: Three awards offered annually; one recipient will be selected from each of the firm's offices.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. Must have demonstrated excellent academic performance during college.
  2. Must be a U.S. citizen or authorized to work in the U.S.
  3. Must be a member of a diverse population that historically has been underrepresented in the legal profession.
  4. This award is for U.S. students.
  5. Must be entering his/her first year of law school.
  6. Must be pursuing a law degree.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: This award is for first-year law school students who are members of a diverse population that has been historically represented in the legeal profession. Applicants must be U.S. citizens or authorized to work in the U.S. and have demonstrated excellent academic performance at their undergraduate school.

Application requirements for the Annual Diversity Scholarship are:

  • Application form
  • Official Transcript
  • Essay
  • Resume
  • Writing sample
  • Recommendation letters (3)
Additional Information: The scholarship award includes a position in Arent Fox’s summer associate program. A scholarship will be awarded to one first-year law student for each of Arent Fox’s offices: Washington, New York, San Fransisco, and Los Angeles. Washington and New York will host a ten week program, and Los Angeles will host a scholar for four weeks this summer. Candidates may only apply to one office. The scholarship money will be paid in addition to the summer associate salary. Please note that it is not necessary to apply to the summer program separately; this completed application denotes consideration for the entire summer program/scholarship package.

Award Amount: $15,000 annually, in addition to the summer associate salary. Awards are non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $15,000.
